The default language is set while you install Windows on your computer. Changing the default language can be a difficult task but if you have Windows 10, you can make the changes without even reinstallation.

Deactivate language syncing
If you have logged in via Microsoft account then the devices with Microsoft account enabled would have the same language. So, if you want to change the language on a particular PC, you need to disable language sync. To do that, follow these steps:
- Go to start menu, click on Settings.
- Now from the settings window, click Accounts.
- Locate Sync your settings and click it.
- Slide the toggle switch beside Language Preferences to turn it off.

How to Change Default System Language?
Follow these steps to change default language on whole system on Windows 10:
- Click on start menu and then locate Settings.
- Now locate Time & Language.
- Click Region & language.
- Beneath Languages option, click on Add a language button.
- Scroll or type in search box to look for language. Use the search box to find the language you want to use.
- Once you located the language, click on it and then Next button.
- Put a checkmark beside “Set as my Windows display language”
- You can also select any other features that you want to install.
- Once done, click Install button.
- Now check Windows display language to ensure that selected language is chosen.
- Also beneath “Country or region”, you can choose your location in case it is not showing your current region.
- Navigate and click Administrative Language Settings from the right hand side panel.
- Go to “Administrative” tab, click Copy Settings.
- You will get to a small dialog box, locate Welcome screen and system accounts & New user accounts. Put a checkmark beside both the options.
- Click OK and then again click OK to close the window.
- Now restart your device.
Upon restarting, everything from sign-in screen to File Explorer, Settings and more will use new selected language.
Note: Cortana might not work with the new default language as it doesn’t support every region and language. So, in this way you can change default language on Windows 10 and if you want to revert it to the previous one, you can follow the same instructions.
We generally don’t change language on our computer but if you have to work on it due to XYZ reason, Windows helps you with it. The feature also helps if you are moving another region and want to change the computer configuration as per convenience.
