Yes, most of us are using Teams, or Slack, or Zoom, or even Google Meet, and forgot about Skype, and how he was a trusty companion for so many years.
- Skype users will surely delight when hearing what’s in store for their favorite app.The popular conferencing software is about to get a new and useful Zoom-in feature.Users will be able to take full advantage of this functionality during screen-sharing.It’s simple to use and you can zoom in using your mouse and keyboard, or the touchpad.
But there are still many users that haven’t moved on to a different experience and still prefer to communicate and host conferences and meetings through Skype.
Now, the app’s screen sharing is getting better with a new Zoom-In feature, which now makes it easier for all participants in a video call to read tiny text on the shared screen.
Developers have implemented different ways to zoom in at any time during meetings, and using Zoom-in won’t interrupt the call or notify other participants that the feature is being used.
Text will be easier to read with this new Skype feature
Yes, that’s a great reason to get excited about, if you are still using Skype to conduct your daily business. And as useful as this new feature is, it’s just as easy to use.
We all hate that pesky small text, so small that it hurts you just by thinking about reading it, let alone actually doing it.
But, from now on, we will be able to magnify the content that needs a closer look with just the press of a button and the mouse.
You can use the new Zoom-in feature when someone in a meeting shares his screen, by simply holding Ctrl for Windows, Cmd for Mac users, and using the mouse’s scroll.
Another way to do it, if you don’t want to use the keyboard at all, is by simply using the laptop’s touchpad. There will also be some on-screen controls at the bottom right corner of the screen.
So, there you have it, three ways of completing the same action, all just as fast and simple. We can all agree that Skype has slowly taken the back seat as Microsoft has been mainly focusing on improving Teams.
If you moved on from Windows 10 and upgraded to Windows 11, you should know that Skype is no longer a default system app, and has instead been replaced by Teams.
You can still download it manually from the Microsoft Store if you want to keep using it. Also, if your Skype keeps crashing on Windows 11, we’re here to help you solve this issue.
